Emily Jakel

Emily grew up immersed in aquatics with a strong background in both rowing and competitive swimming. Born and raised in Gold River, the Aquatic Center was what her summers consisted of. Emily attended the University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Business Administration with a minor in Marketing and Economics.

After her first year of college, she returned to the Aquatic Center for the summer as a youth instructor, where she discovered a passion for working with children, being on the water, and educating others on boating and water safety. Since then, she has continued to grow within the organization, working as a Dock Master, Youth Programs Supervisor and recently stepping into her current role as Waterfront Activity Specialist.
